In its Technology Center in Hamburg, Kroenert provides features and equipment that make it to one of the largest test facilities for the coating of web-shaped materials. A large variety of processes for coating and lamination from roll to roll are available. Customers have the opportunity to test coating and drying processes for different products and with different materials and to optimize all processes and parameters before investing in a new production line.
Depending on the composition and manufacture, paper and tissue have a defined moisture level before processing, which is based on the ambient climate. However, depending on the climatic conditions in the process, this is sometimes subject to severe fluctuations. A highly effective measure to return paper to its original properties at the end of the processing process after a fixing or drying procedure is remoistening. In the future, customers of Kroenert GmbH & Co. KG, Hamburg/Germany, will be able to fall back on the optimized technology from Weko and benefit with better results.
Recently the remoistening system from Weko Weitmann & Konrad GmbH & Co. KG, Leinfelden-Echterdingen/Germany, was renewed and replaced by a Weko-Sigma rotor carrier. Targeted remoistening relaxes paper fibers that have shrunk due to drying, leading to wavy and curled materials with an unsightly look. The treatment ensures flatness, avoids static charges, ensures high product quality, and maximizes the processing speed.
