An increase in consumer interest for ecological fashion and textiles lead to record sales in 2021 for performance textile manufacturer Ventile. The brand highlighted unprecedented demand for its sustainably sourced fabric, which includes Ventile Organic and Ventile Recycled, as it announced a record year for sales of its Eco range with a 203% growth vs. the same period in 2020.
Total brand sales increased by 75% and saw Ventile Fabrics, Strotz & Co. AG, Zurich/Switzerland, buck the trend by launching 5 new fabric types in 12 months. Consumer desire to shop more sustainably, alongside the interest from brands to produce ethically considered garments, have been noted as key factors in the growth of the company.
Sales of its Eco range now account for 51% of total sales from the brand, and out of its top selling lines, 5 now come from this range. One of the core fabrics, Ventile L24 Organic, a 100% cotton fabric made from sustainably grown organic Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certified cottons, accounted for 22% of all meters sold by the brand while Ventile L19 Organic had its best year since it launched.
