In response to the growing demand for sustainable products and technologies in the textile industry, Ventile has announced its move to a PFC-free company. Through rigorous testing in both the lab and in the production, the textile manufacturer Ventile Fabrics, Stotz & Co. AG, Zurich/Switzerland, has worked with scientists, textile experts and dye houses to produce a durable water repellent finish (DWR) replacement for perfluorinated compounds (PFCs) without compromising the quality of its fabric.
The PFC-free DWR now used by Ventile is according to the company the industry’s first renewably sourced water repellent treatment of its kind. The new finish contains 63% renewably sourced content derived from a variety of plant-based sources, carefully selected from non-genetically modified (non-GMO) and non-food-source feedstock.
