After record sales in 2021, again sales of performance fabrics of Ventile went up in the first half of 2022 (H1/2022). Demonstrating an increase in brand confidence and an upward trend in consumer interest, the technical textile manufacturer Ventile Fabrics, Strotz & Co. AG, Zurich/Switzerland, has announced that cumulative sales across the entire range were up 35% in H1/2022 in comparison to the same period in 2021. Despite experts predicting a European economic downturn, figures from the company suggest that both brand and consumer spending are trending upward.
Ventile, which specializes in sustainable fabrics made without the use of PFCs, has also found that in the same period, orders of its Eco range accounted for half of all sales when reviewing total sales from across its global territories. The Ventile Eco range is made up of fabrics that offer increased sustainable credentials such as recycled cotton as well as a choice of blended fabrications such as hemp and lyocell options.
Ventile has also announced that from January 2022 it has witnessed an increased interest in designers looking for darker shade fabrics for their collections with 28% of sales coming from black or dark navy color options. Sales of olive are also up and now account for nearly 10% of all colors requested.
»We continue to invest in the development of new fabrics and 100% biodegradable DWR’s, and we are committed to providing premium quality, sustainable options for our customers. The sales numbers for the year to date indicate a drive for sustainable and innovative textiles in 2022.«
Daniel Odermatt, Ventile Brand Director

Ventile fabric was developed in England in 1943 and is a breathable, all-weather natural fabric. In 2021 the brand announced its move to a PFC-free company in response to the growing demand for sustainable practices in the textile trade.
