After announcing their digital innovation, collaboration, and trends & technologies platform Südwebs Innovation Hub back in January 2022, Südwolle Group, announced their 2nd story that has been developed to inspire customers with ready-made garments.
This innovation promoted on the platform is focusing on garments that reduce the distance between nature and the consumer in order to achieve a state of harmony between clothing, people and the environment. The result is an unisex Merino Poncho designed by the designer Qiao Qiao. The garment is treated with the Naturetexx plasma technology of Südwolle Group, Nuremberg/Germany - a completely different, environment-centered process, which uses plasma instead of chemicals to modify the fiber surface and through that avoid a shrinkage of the garment while washing it. It is the first ecological alternative with the potential to replace the current industry standard.
In this development, the attention to detail has allowed Südwolle Group’s 100% Merino wool extrafine flat-knitting yarn ‘Genziana’ to present its special qualities in a smooth and silent way. ‘Genziana’ is 100% natural and biodegradable, which is why it is unique in terms of environmental friendliness and produced in accordance with the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), the Naturtextil IVN Best Standard for organic wool and the bluesign system for sustainable textile production.
