In a further step in the incorporation of companies that add value in each of the stages of the business, Nextil has signed the acquisition of the Portuguese company Keupe, specialized in the production of luxury garments.
The transaction amounting to approx. €225,000 will allow Nextil Group, Barcelona/Spain, to increase the production capacity of its luxury garments unit by 20%, with a proprietary manufacturing model where the group controls the production of garments under common quality standards.
Keupe Unipessola, Lda., Ponte de Lima/Portugal, is Nextil's 3rd acquisition in the country. In 2018 Nextil bought SICI93 and Playvest, based in Braga/Portugal and with work facilities in VilaVerde/Portugal, Vizela/Portugal and Braga.
In 2021, the Nextil recorded a positive operating result of €0.048 million in the first 9 months of the year, compared to losses of €8 million in the previous year. Despite the increase in the price of raw materials, energy and transport, EBITDA grew by 498% to €3.2 million.
The Garment Unit achieved €2.4 million EBITDA in the 3rd quarter, compared to €0.6 million in 2020, with a sales increase of over 57% compared to the previous year.
