With production sites in Egypt and in Turkey, Sharabati Denim weaves more than 80 million m of denim, corduroy, and gray fabrics every year. The company has introduced process optimizations to decrease water and energy waste and to promote responsible employment of chemicals.
Therefore, Sharabati Denim, El Sadat City/Egypt, installed a first group of Itema rapier weaving machines exclusively dedicated to weave denim - the R9500-2denim, equipped with the iSaver, the device that completely eliminates weft and warp waste on the left side of the fabric leading to significant cotton and water savings.
The very satisfying performance of the machinery led in 2021 to a repeat order both for the Egyptian and the Turkish plant for a total of more than 180 machines. As reported by the company, the iSaver equipped on the weaving machines in production ensures a yarn saving that ranges from 650-900 Kg per machine per year.
A further expansion project in 2022 is aimed at significantly increase its production capacity. Itema SpA, Colzate/Italy, will provide 200 weaving machines for the Egyptian mill. With this order, Sharabati Denim now owns a fleet of more than 400 Itema rapier R9500-2denim, thus achieving very high levels of performance, sustainability and technological know-how.
