IFKT Congress 2022 in Belfast/UK at Ulster University (Source: IFKT)
After an online phase of more than 2 years, the 50th International Congress of the Federation of Knitting Technologists took place again in person from August 31-September 2, 2022, in Belfast/UK. More than 30 participants from 11 different nations (Bangladesh, Canada, Croatia, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Romania, Slovenia, Turkey, the UK, and the USA) attended the professional meeting for mutual exchange.
The topic of the congress "Knitting for a Sustainable Future" was examined from different perspectives in 5 sessions covering fiber materials, machine development, textile technology, management, further processing and recycling.
In addition, a tour of the textile department of Ulster University Belfast was offered. The next 51st IFKT Congress is planned for 2024 in Canada.
