As demand in many businesses returned to pre-pandemic levels Huntsman reported an increase in revenue of 62% to US$ 2.02 billion year-on-year in the 2nd quarter (Q2) 2021. Adjusted EBITDA reached $334 million compared to adjusted EBITDA of $54 million in the prior year period.

Sales in the Textile Effects segment of Huntsman, The Woodlands, TX/USA, more than doubled to $ 207 million in Q2/2021 (Q2/2020: $ 102 million). This was due to higher sales volumes, partially offset by lower average selling prices. Sales volumes increased primarily due to increased demand resulting from the ongoing recovery from the global economic slowdown, particularly in Asia. The increase in segment adjusted EBITDA was primarily due to higher sales revenues.
