A new dyestuff that delivers chlorine and nitrogen oxide (NOx)-fastness alongside lightfastness for textiles has been introduced by Huntsman. The blue formazan dye delivers a broader range of earth tones, including gray, and does not fade when exposed to chlorine, air pollution, light or perspiration. Novacron Atlantic EC-NC is based on a patented dye molecule, and provides a trouble-free way to produce more sustainable, long-lasting textile products.
The new product completes the Non-Contrasting Concept from Huntsman Textile Effects, Singapore, and addresses the challenges to deliver improved light, perspiration and chlorine-fastness and high NOx resistance.
Ideal for the production of light-medium shades of home textiles and apparel, the dye meets the most stringent home laundering program requirements and performs well where chlorine is added to water supplies. The high NOx resistance of Novacron Atlantic EC-NC enables positive differentiation to be achieved with textiles that are less likely to fade. The product has unique application properties for both exhaust and pad processes, and very good compatibility with all other trichromatic dyes.
The innovative IP-protected Novacron Atlantic EC-NC dye is also an addition to the successful Novacron NC concept for earth tone colors. The earth tones – from sand to brown, olive, beige, khaki and grey – are popular in casual wear and sports apparel, as well as for home and hospitality textile products such as furnishing, towels and bedding.
