Making people more successful in their profession and their business by providing them with the most important raw material of the knowledge-based society: relevant and reliable technical information – we at the dfv media group see this as our central task. 75 years ago, on September 10, 1946, the journalist Wilhelm Lorch received a license in Heidelberg from the “Publication Control” of the American military government to “publish technical books and magazines for the textile industry”. One month later, the founding object of the dfv media group appeared: Die TextilWirtschaft.
In the meantime, the dfv media group, Frankfurt/Germany, is now one of Europe's leading providers of business-to-business (B2B) communications. Its portfolio includes more than 80 trade media brands that cover all communication channels. Many of the titles are market leaders in 11 important business sectors. More than 100 events are held annually, either digitally, hybrid or live. Our services include developing tailored communications solutions, market research, corporate publishing, and services for legal departments and in-house counsel. This also includes, under the umbrella brand TextileTechnology, the titles melliand Textilberichte, melliand International, melliand China, Technische Textilien/
Technical Textiles und Chemical Fibers International, nonwovenTrends and the Trendbook Technical Textiles. Since April 2021, the industry portal TextileTechnology.net has also been added.
The dfv media group also has a long tradition of supporting young talent. With the active support of entrepreneurs and managers in the respective industries, 3 foundations have been established. These include the Wilhelm Lorch Foundation, established in 1988, a non-profit foundation for the promotion of talented young people in the textile industry.
