Countless mills around the world produce fabrics for apparel. Fabric mills do not have an effective means to manage what they have already developed, and brands do not have an effective way to find the fabric that they need. BlackOPS defines the key attributes required to comprehensively model fabric and leverages those data to transform an inspiration into a specification.
Black Swan Textiles LLC, Bear, DE/USA, has completed the Proof of Concept of the BlackOPS Fabric Decoder (BFD), which defines the key attributes required to comprehensively model fabric and leverages those data to transform an inspiration into a specification. BFD employs Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence to analyze a knit fabric of unknown origin and derive knitting machine set-up instructions. In essence, this novel technology provides a searchable, digital definition of knit fabrics.
