For the first time, from May 10-11, 2023, the German Federation of Reinforced Plastics (AVK), Frankfurt/Germany, in cooperation with the Forschungsgesellschaft Kunststoffe e.V. (FGK), Darmstadt/Germany, will hold a conference on flame retardancy in Berlin/Germany.
Components made of fiber-reinforced plastics/composites, which are manufactured for the transport sector, often need to have specific flame-retardant properties. In 18 lectures under the heading “Flame retardancy for Composites Applications in the Transport Sector”, experts will provide information on new developments, requirements and innovations in this field. Among others, there will be presentations by industry representatives from Saertex, BÜFA, Clariant, Diehl Aviation and Airbus, but also from institutes such as the Fraunhofer Institutes and the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing.
Presentations on the topics of standardization, raw materials, automotive or recycling are on the program in Berlin. Flame retardants for connectors and battery housings for electric vehicles or fire-retardant systems for railway vehicles, but also flame-retardant CFRP made from rCF nonwovens are just some of the presentations at the conference.
The conference program and further information are available here.
