Supported by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), the SozioTex junior research group, in which the the Institut für Textiltechnik of RWTH Aachen University (ITA), Aachen/Germany, is involved, developed a methodology for the participatory design of an assistance system in the textile industry.

This assistance system supports employees in carrying out work in the textile sector directly on the weaving machine.
At the final conference, Dr. Andrea Altepost, Deputy Director of SozioTex (ITA), demonstrated that participation plays a key role in the junior research groups and in particular SozioTex, which sharpens the focus on the research objectives and offers all participants design possibilities in the entire research process.
8 groups of young researchers presented the results of their projects in the field of human-technology interaction at the final conference Interdisciplinary Competence Expansion on September 26, 2019, at the Digital Capability Center Aachen/Germany.
