A conductive film needle-punched into nonwovens geotextiles has been developed which makes electric leak location simpler and more efficient. GeoVolt is a new, patented, conductive geocomposite from Layfield Geosynthetics, Richmond/Canada, and Skaps Industries, Athens, GA/USA. GeoVolt is delivered in rolls and placed directly under the geomembrane to provide a consistent conductive layer for testing. The product can be provided in a variety of thicknesses and weights depending on the application. This format allows the nonwovens layer to provide the dual duty of a cushion layer beneath the geomembrane.
