JEC Forum DACH’s primary goal is to promote the region DACH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) area’s dynamic composites ecosystem through a program that includes one to one business meetings, conferences, startup competition, and awards. This annual rotating event, organized by the Federation of Reinforced Plastics (AKV), Frankfurt/Germany, will take place in Augsburg/Germany from November 29-30, 2022.
The digital platform available to all participants prior to the event enables one to one business meetings to be scheduled between buyers and suppliers from the whole value chain of composites, as well as informal networking during breaks etc.
In total, 500 attendees, suppliers and buyers, from the DACH region covering various sectors, including automotive, aerospace, building, sports and leisure, etc. are expected to participate to JEC Forum DACH 2022.
Day 1 will see a keynote and plenary conference session on market developments. There will also be lectures on developments of the composites markets in Europe, and on innovations and future applications for composites: Prof. Klaus Drechsler, Fraunhofer IGCV, Augsburg: A challenging market environment - raw materials and energy.
The other keynote and plenary conference session will be on recycling of composites. Lectures will be held on efficient high-volume production of sustainable lightweight composites, natural fiber and bio-resin applications, and best practice: use of recycled materials.
Keynote and plenary conference sessions on day 2 will be on the topics of sustainability of composites, and innovations in raw materials, processes and applications.
One goal of the AVK Innovation Awards, to be presented during the conference, is to promote new products/components and applications made from fiber-reinforced plastics (FRP) and promote new processes and methods for manufacturing FRP products. Universities, colleges, and institutes will receive an award for their outstanding work in science and research. In all the categories, sustainability will be the focus. Another goal is to give prominence to the innovations and the companies/institutions behind them, thus publicizing their performance throughout the industry. The awards celebrate innovations in fiber-reinforced plastics (FRP) / composites in the following categories: Innovative products/components or applications; Innovative procedures/processes; Research and science.
Launched in 2017, Startup Booster competition has been organized in 3 different regions (Europe, USA and Asia) and has already fostered the emergence of 700+ innovative projects from 60+ countries, 80 finalists and 25 winners. This contest is open to entrepreneurs, SMEs, startups and academic spinoffs building innovative composite and advanced materials projects that are based in the DACH region.
A pitch session will take place at JEC Forum DACH, following which, out of the 5 finalists, 1 winner will be selected by the jury of the competition:
Startups can apply until October 2, 2022.
