Using the right needle is essential, especially when sewing on sensitive material or with challenging operations. The special application needles of the San family from Groz-Beckert KG, Albstadt/Germany, can be used in countless applications in the field of technical textiles where sophisticated needles are needed. Increased stability through special blade reinforcement, reliable loop pick-up for a greater safeguard against skipped stitches, uniform seam appearance and an always gentle handling of the sewing material are some of the benefits provided, e.g. by the San 5.2, the 2nd-generation sewing machine needle for technical textiles.
The newly conceived double groove in the tip area has improved thread guidance during linear and multidirectional sewing processes. This results in fewer uneven threads and consequently offers more uniform seam appearance. The scarf chamfer (hook chamfer) on the right-hand side results in reliable engagement of the loop by standard horizontal and vertical hooks. The additional scarf chamfer on the left-hand side results in reliable engagement of the loop by oscillating hooks.
The special blade reinforcement enhances needle stability further. This makes the new needle ideally suited for linear as well as multidirectional sewing applications.
The larger eye allows thicker sewing thread to be used without increasing the needle thickness.
