60th anniversary as Webinar Week

For 60 years, the fiber industry has been very interested in an international exchange on future orientated innovations. This year, from September 15-17, 2021, the Dornbirn Global Fiber Congress (GFC) will celebrate its 60th anniversary as a Webinar Week on a modern interactive online platform including networking tools.

A total of 96 presentations from industry and research will be presented in 2 virtual lecture halls.

“See and be seen” is the motto for the visitors in the meeting room “”.

With one click congress participants can enter into a conversation. As in Dornbirn/Austria itself, networking and the exchange of information is the focus of the congress.

The opening day starts with plenary lectures: Robert van de Kerkhof (Lenzing AG) and Uday Gill (Indorama) will kick off the event, along with Martin Bethke (WWF), who wants to give “A wake- up call” to protect our planet.

The online version of the Dornbirn GFC will also feature the well-known CEO Panel on the opening day. After lectures from Markus Mannström (Stora Enso), Eric Le Lay (Huhtamaki) and Georg Stausberg (Oerlikon), Tobias Erikson (EFESO) will open the panel.

For the first time in its 60 years of history the Dornbirn GFC takes up a cross-sector innovation under the motto “Packaging Industry meets Fiber Industry”. The packaging industry will work together with the fiber industry to meet the challenges of our future sustainable environment.
