Sustainability and climate protection are central topics in C.F. Weber's day-to-day business and have gained further momentum since the presentation of sustainable recycled polyester (rPET) fabrics in 2021. Meanwhile, the demand for adequate products made of recycled polyamide (PA) 66, which in terms of performance are comparable to classic rPET fabric qualities, is huge from all sectors, with workwear leading the way.
At the Techtextil in Frankfurt/Germany, C.F. Weber GmbH, Spitzkunnersdorf/Germany, now the first German company and long-standing authorized mill partner of the Cordura brand by Invista S.à.r.l. Wichita, KS/USA, will present fabric samples made of Cordura re/cor recycled PA 66. Initially, the new fabric will be launched in black and in 3 different weave types.
In terms of quantifiable benefits versus virgin PA 66 the production Cordura re/cor recycled PA 66 produces 83 % fewer greenhouse gas emissions, consumes 82 % less energy, and uses 57 % less water. Cordura re/cor made from 100 % pre-consumer fiber material that is 100 % GRS (Global Recycled Standard) certified.
Until now there was no yarn, certainly not in PA, that met the high demands for performance and sustainability, especially in workwear, but this should change with the Cordura re/cor high-quality yarns.
