To relieve shortages during the Covid-19 crisis, Textilcord has invested in a production line for surgical masks which will produce 20 million pieces per year. Thanks to a new technology, the subsidiary of Indorama Ventures Public Company Ltd. (IVL), Bangkok/Thailand, Textilcord Steinfort SA, Steinfort/Luxembourg, will produce innovative masks which can directly neutralize viruses on them.

Since 1965, the Textilcord plant has specialized in the manufacture of dipped fabrics used for tires reinforcement. For several years, its 130 employees have contributed to the manufacture of tires mainly intended for passenger cars. In June 2020, considering the needs raised by the corona crisis, the company considered producing surgical masks. This move recognized the need to reduce dependency on external sources to supply surgical masks.
