Wool provides pleasant warmth, regulates body temperature and is water-repellent, breathable and at the same time neutralizes odors. lavalan pure, the biodegradable insulation made of wool, is a sustainable alternative to conventional synthetic insulation and down. Using a new manufacturing process, the novel padding made from 100% European virgin sheep's wool is produced by wool specialist Baur Vliesstoffe GmbH, Dinkelsbühl/Germany. The insulation combines high functionality and good wash resistance with high sustainability standards. lavalan pure is made exclusively from natural raw materials and is therefore also 100% biodegradable. In the soil, wool decomposes within about 6 months and wool is also undetectable in water after 7-8 months.
Due to its varietal purity, the product can be easily recycled at the end of the product life cycle and reincorporated into the lavalan production process. This conserves resources and conforms to the principle of the circular economy. Only European virgin wool is used. Sheep wool, which for a long time only ended up being thrown away, is well suited for being processed into wool insulation.
Due to its fine structure, the padding is particularly suitable for use in clothing, sleeping bags, gloves, home textiles, baby equipment and much more.
