As a main supplier for its planned textile recycling plant in Sundsvall/Sweden, Renewcell, Stockholm/Sweden, a company providing an alternative raw material for textile production, has signed a contract with the industrial machinery manufacturer Valmet Oyi, Espoo/Finland.
The plant will have a capacity of 60,000 tons/year, and the contract is worth SEK 232 million (€ 22.8 million). The selection marks a major milestone in the establishment of one of the first commercial scale textile recycling plant of its kind in the world.
Renewcell’s technology has been specifically designed to run on proven equipment in order to ensure scalability and industry-leading overall equipment effectiveness. The contract with Valmet covers machine equipment installation, commissioning and ongoing technical support. Valmet will supply process equipment for stock preparation, bleaching and drying commonly used in large scale state-of-the-art dissolving pulp plants throughout the world.
Renewcell’s new plant is scheduled to begin operations in the 1st half of 2022.
