Following the expansion of meltblown capacities by a total of around 5,000 tons in 2019/2020, Innovatec Microfibre Technology GmbH & Co. KG, Troisdorf/Germany, invested in a Reicofil bicomponent (bico) line to expand its technical spunbond capacities, scheduled for commission in September 2021. The manufacturer of meltblown nonwovens will thus significantly increase its output of technical spunbonds.
In addition to PP nonwovens, the line will also produce polyester and PLA spunbonds as well as various bico variants.
Bico technology offers many technical possibilities, but in particular significantly increases the strength of spunbonded nonwovens. As a result, lighter nonwovens can often be used by the processor, thus conserving resources.
The new spunbond line will increase the output of the spunbond nonwovens by approx. 4,500 tons/year. At the same time, the focus is increasingly on sustainable production by using granules based on renewable raw materials or recycled plastics.
Under the InnovaSpun brand, Innovatec offers tailor-made spunbond solutions, e.g. for use in the construction industry, filtration or the automotive industry. More information will be available at the company's stand at the Index trade fair from October 19-22, 2021 in Geneva/Switzerland.
