Partnership to scale sustainable dyeing innovations

Alchemie Technology Ltd., Cambridge/UK, has partnered with Acatel – Textile Finishing S.A., Gilmonde/Portugal, to enhance its jet precision dyeing technology for knitted cellulosic fabrics. This collaboration will focus on a 12-month research and development program to prepare the innovative, fully electric, and non-contact dyeing system for large-scale manufacturing.

The initiative aims to replace traditional dyeing methods, reducing water, energy, and chemical usage while improving efficiency and product consistency. Hosted within the Acatel Innovation Hub in Portugal, the partnership will utilize Acatel's manufacturing expertise to fine-tune the low-carbon digital dyeing system for applications using materials like cotton, linen, man-made cellulosic fibers (MMCF), hemp, and wool blends.

Acatel has been a leader in sustainable textile processes since 1985, blending advanced technology with a strong environmental commitment. By leveraging Acatel’s innovation ecosystem, the partnership aims to accelerate the adoption of next-generation dyeing solutions and highlight the role of the Acatel Innovation Hub in bringing scalable, sustainable innovations to the textile dyeing and finishing industry.

The collaboration will also be showcased at Paris Première Vision from February 3-5, 2026, where visitors can experience Alchemie’s technology through fabric samples, demonstrating its potential to transform dyeing processes sustainably and efficiently.
