Kordsa is set to acquire the majority shares of Microtex Composites Srl, Pistoia/Italy, which provides carbon fiber fabrics and prepregs for marine, motorsport and luxury automotive industries in Europe. By expanding its footprint across Europe, Kordsa Global AS, Istanbul/Turkey, will provide its customers with the products developed in Turkey and the USA through its new hub.
The acquisition of shares is expected to be finalized in the Q2/2022. With this investment in composite technologies, Kordsa aims to increase its product diversity; grow its customer base and also, to expand its service range in the automotive and motorsport segments.
Kordsa, a subsidiary of Sabancı Holding AS, Istanbul, continues its transformation into an advanced material company and strengthens its position in European markets. It had already acquired 4 composite technology companies in the USA and made sizable investments in Turkey. One of these investments is the Composite Technologies Centre of Excellence, an exemplary industry-university cooperation model.
