Before the end of the year, a solution has been found for the profitable subsidiary of the insolvent Dralon GmbH, Dormagen/Germany. Kairos Industries has taken over the fiber manufacturer Dolan GmbH of Kelheim/Germany. All of the approximately 120 employees at the Kelheim site will be retained. A corresponding purchase agreement was signed last week. The industrial holding company Kairos Industries AG, Berlin/Germany, specializes in the acquisition of medium-sized companies and intends to focus the acrylic fiber manufacturer Dolan on growth.
In August 2020, the parent company Dralon had filed for protective shield proceedings. However, Kelheim-based Dolan was never part of these proceedings and the associated restructuring measures. The order books were and continue to be well filled. The foundation of the stable business development is the products made of spun-dyed acrylic fibers. These fibers are used in the outdoor sector for awnings, garden furniture and convertible tops, and in the indoor sector for upholstery. Dolan's production also includes homopolymer fibers for filtration, for example of exhaust gas streams in coal-fired power or cement plants.
