A seamless high-performance polo shirt, the first product made with HeiQ AeoniQ fiber, has been revealed by fashion company Boss. The product is crafted with 87% HeiQ AeoniQ, an innovative cellulosic yarn from HeiQ Materials AG, Zurich/Switzerland, created from certified wood pulp, one of the many renewable raw materials it can be made of, featuring the same performance attributes as polyester (PET). HeiQ AeoniQ is a sustainable, circular, and closed-loop cellulosic textile yarn.
Fabrics made from this high-performance yarn are on par with conventional fabrics like PET and polyamide (PA) due to the yarn’s tensile strength, elasticity, and abrasion resistance. At the same time, they also demonstrate a better environmental footprint. Whereas PET and PA fibers are produced from non-renewable fossil fuels. For Hugo Boss AG, Metzingen/Germany, the partnership with HeiQ represents another milestone on its journey towards becoming a tech-driven fashion platform.
